1911 Census, age 32, Journeyman baker living at Hilmarton, Calne, Wiltshire 'Lived at Broad Hinton; was a master baker and had a Bakehouse at Broad Hinton; (it can still be found at Broad Hinton but as a Coffee Tavern sign on it). He had rounds at Goatacre Marlborough, Wroughton etc, for which he used a horse Topsy,and a cart. When the Swindon Co-op came to Swindon he lost alot of his customers, so Elizabeth and Benjamin, and Leslie and Reginald the 2 eldest boys moved to Swindon. He also had a bakery at Hilmarton, near Calne, the 2 boys went to Hilmarton School, which joined the bakery, so the boys were lifted over the wall for school. Eventually they moved to Edinburgh St, Swindon, and then moved to Whiteman Street, Swindon. Elizabeth and her husband had the rest of their family in Swindon. He worked until his death, as a plasterer in Swindon G.W.R. works'.
